I knew my luck was in the day I chanced upon Kate Valasis of Kallima Design. She LISTENS. She is really interested in what is important to me, what my needs are and the results I wish to achieve with my website. She gives excellent advice, provides leadership, comes up with brilliant ideas of her own, but she always tries to give practical effect to even my most wayward wishes. Kate patiently explains things to me in a language I can understand; what can be done, and what not. I am not referring here to Afrikaans or English, but to her not using jargon, not looking down on my ignorance of computers and especially not exploiting the fact that I hardly know anything about websites at all. (As a matter of fact, I think her Afrikaans is as bad as my English. Ja-nee, Boet. Afrikaans is meewlick and English are not for sissies, but we communicate dat die stof so staan and we do get the job done.) It is a pleasure to work with her. She has a friendly, endearing disposition. Not that we have never locked horns before! Kate is undeniably an extremely talented, creative person. Now, as it is with true artists, she would sometimes do a thing in a way I, as a bumpkin, could not understand. But, I am glad to say that we have quickly and amicably resolved the one or two misunderstandings we had in the past. She is just too gentle and decent a person not to want to live in peace with everybody else. We mostly communicate via e-mail, which suits me to a T. So it does not matter where in the RSA she is busy doing business, she is always easily available. I just e-mail her something to do for me and a day or two later it is neatly done. Her professional fees are fair and affordable. She is honest and will never cheat you out of a cent. I therefore recommend Kate wholeheartedly, should you ever want to start with your own website, or get rid of your current webmaster who is not doing his/her job properly. When Kate says I am happy when you are happy, she means it from the bottom of her heart. A young entrepreneur, proud of the quality of her work, always giving her best for all her clients.
